Take Action

War on want is an organization that fights poverty in developing countries. Partnering with the Asia Monitor Resource Centre and Labour Action China they have built more than 15 migrant worker organizations to help out those in China. You can donate and check out their website to see how you can help this cause here.

Green America is another organization that tries to raise awareness. You can also donate and they offer a guide that teaches you how to be more aware of sweatshops. In addition they have an up to date of companies and brands that use union labour rather than sweatshops and a list of companies and brands to avoid. They also offer good tips on how to help this cause. You can find them here.

You can do your own part by demanding sweatshop-free products and raising awareness to friends and family. Buy only union-made, local or second-hand items when it comes to shopping. Fair Trade is a certification that shows there were fair wages given to workers and labour rights were properly given. You may look for this when shopping. By boycotting large companies and having a hand in donations to this cause we can lessen the amount of sweatshops and help out the working conditions of workers in China.

Additionally, we have some posters to help you raise awareness of this issue in the 'Raise Awareness' section of this website. You may print these and post them to rally up others to take a stand against this issue!
